82 Deca ,.... .Y ,, C , r, seas ' ' i p S' Deca Dudes enter business world Members of Meadowdale's Distributive Education Clubs of America, known to most of us as the DECA Dudes, were as prosperous and active as always this year. Though most students recognize the DECA Dudes for their management of the school store and the dances they sponsored, DECA also was involved in many other community activities. Led by adviser and teacher, Mrs. Shelley Rondeau, they participated in projects including activities with the South County Chamber of Com- merce, the Rotary Club, Alderwood Mall, Aurora Vil- lage, food drive, blood drive and Toys for Tots. At the end of the year, DECA students successfully ap- plied their talent and experience in marketing and man agement to local, state, and national DECA academic competition. Fantasies come true at Formal Tolo The Formal Tolo, a tradition at Meadowdale, was held on Saturday, February 21. Young women, arranged in formal or semi-formal dress- es, took their tuxedo-clad dates to dinner before pro- ceeding to the dance. The couples arrived at the Com- mons to find themselves surrounded by clouds, rain- bows, unicorns, and winged horses as they danced to the music of laugernaut. The decorations displayed a fantasy theme and were the creations of the Tolo Decoration Committee. The committee was headed by Katy Huffman, lennifer Car- rao and Anne Topham. Profits from the sale of the 59.00 tickets went to the general ASB fund. Formal Tolo 81
