PATTI BURKE CAPTAIN | | MARGO JORAMO CO-CAPTAIN DRILL TEAM IS ON THE MARCH MRS. GILSON ADVISOR Under the harsh glare of stadium and gym lights, navy blue outfits and emblems stepped quickly into precise columns and difficult rou- tines. Each drill had taken hours of rigid practice and discipline; often the twenty-one girl team worked after school or in the evenings to im- prove and perfect their performance. Captain Patti Burke and co-captain Margo Joramo helped to create the many intricate routines and movements and to encourage the spirited style exhibited before pleased football and basketball crowds. At each assembly and pep rally, team members presented the flag and often sold pro- grams at the games. Respect and admiration from the student body increased as Drill Team, through hard work and dedication, became an important part of Meadowdale’s 1966-67 spirit and achievement.

In spite of the driving rain, many Chiefs came to the bonfire pep rally before the game with Cascade. Af- ter the bonfire the carvans wound its way noisily to the Ed- monds stadium where the Chiefs rose up to defeat the Bruins 9-0.
