— Advisor Mrs. Joan Barton On many late nights after school, freshly-paint- ed signs lay scattered across the empty floor of senior hall with several girls and boys crouched stiffly over the paper. The dedicated few who so often held sticky-wet paint brushes in hand were the twelve who also stood faithfully before fans at o every Meadowdale pep assembly, football game, A and basketball game. RAISES SPIRIT The Meadowdale cheerleading staff, led by Cheer Queen Marcia Harrell and Song Queen Kim Bingham, coaxed tre- mendous spirit and enthusiasm out of an often lukewarm student body. The spirit stick, which initiated exciting class competition during each pep assembly during the year, was won by Meadowdale’s cheer squad at the 1966 summer cheerleader conference. Besides the difficult routines perfect- ed and presented by the cheerleaders and songleaders, the school mascots Robin Klein and Mary Leahy, and yell leaders, Doug Pittis and Doug Aukland, added humor and distinction to Meadowdale’s rooting section. Without the hard work and lively enthusiasm of the cheer squad, Meadowdale’s spirit and loyalty to both the teams and school could not have climbed so high.
