Bob Scharer applies a pinning hold to Burlington grappler. This year, the Meadowdale wrestling squad climaxed its most successful season ever by winning the Western Conference subdistrict tournament. Earning four first places, the matmen scored 102 points to second place Bellingham’s 78. With this behind them, the eleven winners at subdistrict headed to Burlington-Edison for the district match, which was to decide the state berths. Here the Chiefs took Sth place and placed thre e boys and sent Steve Delong and Dave Zehrung to the state competition at Ellensburg.
