This year’s Homecoming was marked by a special vibrance and air of enthusiasm at M.H.S. Countless stu- dents anxiously watched our fighting Chiefs battle the Edmonds Tigers in the last football game of the season. Then the excitement moved back to the school for the Homecoming dance. It was this year that Mead- owdale welcomed back its first group of Homecoming graduates. A warm feeling was carried through the evening as old friendships were renewed. Added splendor was given to the night with the coronation of the 1965 Homecoming court. The queen, Anne Lager, and her four princesses, Linda Misvida, Sherry Groves, Patty McCormick, and Teri Williams, exquisitely represented the active spirit alive in everyone at M.H.S. Through its fine efforts, the International Relations League brought M.H.S. a foreign exchange student from Cyprus. Balkas Teoman, a very intelligent, warm-hearted girl, has taken part in all IRL activities as well as other school functions. Through the year she has become a special friend to many of us, and we will always remember her. Yet, of greater importance, Balkas and her American sister, Beth Wright, have helped to foster a feeling of friendship and understand- ing between the people of Cyprus and America. The members of the International. Relations League have been very busy this year helping Balkas enjoy her visit at M.H.S. As usual, they have worked hard by sponsoring activities and fund raisers to earn money needed to bring a foreign student here next year. In addition, they have put out an extra effort to raise money to send a student from Meadowdale to a school in a foreign country in the near future.
