Meadowdale sent eight boys to State, second only to Renton who sent nine. At State, Paulson placed sixth in the javelin with a throw of 179’5”. School records were easily broken this year also. Larry Paulson threw the javelin 180'9”; Ray Payne pole-vaulted 137”; and Greg Rice ran the 880 in 1:58.1, all bettering previous years. Besides these, Steve Horning deserves recognition for the mile, running it in 4:26.2.
