The Chiefs ' 64- ' 65 football season was highlighted by outstanding individual performances in addition to a unified team effort. The season ' s opener with Wenatchee, Mea- dowdale ' s first Western Conference game, ended in victo¬ ry amid the joyOus screams of Meadowdale ' s fans. Mea- dowdale went on to suffer a few defeats; but under the leadership of Coach John Garner, the Chiefs claimed the victory of victories: the crushing defeat of Edmonds High. With this win, Meadowdale captured the District title and took six places on the District All-Star team. The Chiefs have distinguished themselves as a team of character and skill and are a source of pride for all students of M.H.S. 39
