GRADUATION - 1965 The climax to four years of high school for twelve seniors came May 20 when they marched down the aisle to the stage for graduation exercises. The speaker was James Bradford of Norfolk who had graduated on the same stage 26 vears before. Mr. Steiner then presented Karen Kouba, yale-dictorian, with an 1 Dare You book and a Reader's Digest Subscription. Carol Kuchar, salutatorian, also recieved the book and subscription. A scholarship from the Norfolk Junior College was presented to Susan Margritz. Diplomas were presented by the president of the board of education Gordon McIntosh. The seniors wore lustre blue robes and caps with white tassels. The girls wore white carnation corsages and the boys wore white boutonnieres. The class motto was THE HIGHER WE CLIMB-THE BROADER THE VIEW. The mixed ensemble sang The Halls of Ivy.” Debbie Horrocks played the processional and recessional. Rev. Ross gave the invocation and benediction. 10
