I, Lynda Black, will my television seat to Gail and Gusy after my beau and I are finished with it. I, Bonnie Cleveland, will my ability to talk back to the referees in volleyball to Marcella Sparr. I, Carolyn DeCamp, will my ability to change the color of my hair (Green) to Sandra Howard. I, David DeCamp, will my ability to swoon all the freshmen girls to Tim Reikofski. I, Dennis Dusel, will my athletic build to Duane Suckstorf. I, Billy Green, will going steady to anyone who can afford it. I Can’t! I, Georgia Grant, will my steadies’ class ring to Thyra Lulow; Roger doesn’t have one. I, Sandra Hamley, will my small feet to Jane Horrocks; they are not so expensive. I, Janet Horrocks, will my scatter brain ideas to Mike Sullivan, as if he needed them. I, Elaine Howard, will my curly hair to Roger Nelson. No more nightly pinups, Roger. I, Evelyn Humphrey, will my late, late hours in Norfolk to Kathy Daniels. Take advantage of this Max. I, Theron Jensen, will my ability to sing and play the guitar to Ardith Meyer. I, Carolyn Larson, will “Kookie” to anyone who can afford to loose their class ring. I, Gloria Larson, will my trips to Tilden to Donna Rae Black. This doesn’t include Frenchy! I, Kayleen Larson, will my graceful dancing ability in Volleyball to Carolyn Berg. I, Jill Mather, will my face full of freckles to Miss MacNamee. I, Marjorie Meyer, will my towering height to Buddy Cornet. I, Marilyn Mozer, will my easy going ways during a minor smashup to Joyce Lyall. I, Imagene Scott, will my gift of gab to Joyce Humphrey. I, Arlyn Suckstorf, will my red hair to anyone who needs it so as to help them charm all the girls as it helps me charm all the girls. I, Claudia Wauer, will my ability to charm all the teachers to Jerry Wyatt. I, Harlan Weingart, will my ability to keep my big mouth shut to Georgia Lewis. I, Jack Wynn, will my ability to miss running into semi trucks to Mr. Merklinger. To the Juniors we leave the best 4 desks left out of the ruins of our 23 desks. To the Sophomores we leave the typewriters that we have demolished in the last two years. To the Freshmen we leave our INTESTINAL FORTITUDE! To Miss MacNamee we will all our charm and poise. To Mr. Merklinger we will our ability to be studeous and well behaved. To Mrs. Ankeny we leave the pleasant memories of our melodious tones; neither flat nor sharp. To Mr. Spear we will all our good training habits. To Mr. Hummer we will our ability to be of a sane and sound mind while working on experiments. To Mr. Switzer we will our clean and TIDY habits. 0P%afiAeccf I am Father Time. The year is 2000 A.D. The city is Meadow Grove. The purpose of my making this report is to tell you how the class of 1960 is progressing. 1 made my first stop at the new state hospital. There I met the head nurse, LYNDA BLACK, who has been confined there the last ten years. Apparently she couldn't get along with the opposite sex. I next visited Dahl's Dentist Office. BONNIE CLEVELAND, his assistant, was having an argument with Miss McNamee, a patient, who thought she was having too many teeth extracted. Due to all the confusion, I left. As I hurried down the street, I met BILLY GREEN. He told me he was manager of “Billy's Beauty Bar , and that he taught a class of charm to all girls interested. Because my curiosity got the best of me, I stopped in to visit his shop. There working busily was CAROLYN DE CAMP. She was a hair stylist, and she was giving Mr. Hummer a mowhawk haircut. As I proceeded on my way, I noticed on a bill board that MAX DE CAMP had the lead role in the current broadway play ‘‘Kathy My Love . Having reached 11th and Main, I saw a huge manufacturing company. I went in and met the President, DENIS DUSEL. His company manufactured Betsy Wetsy Dolls. He decided if you can't lick'em; join'em. As I continued on my way, I met a middle-aged lady, JANET HORROCKS, who was pitifully crying because she had lost her job of chairman of the HDS (Homeless Dogs Society). My next stop was the Bus Depot. There I met JILL MATHER and EVELYN HUMPHREY, who were partners in a bus line between Meadow Grove and Norfolk. They were having an argument because each wanted to take the night shift. Evelyn gave me the directions to Jensens Body Shop (car repair). I found that THERON JENSEN was married and was the father of five little Jensens. He was fine, but his son, Sammy, just had fallen into a pail of grease. I next visited CAROLYN LARSON at her law office. She is a very successful private detective. Her specialty is locating lost articles. My feet seemed rather tired, so I went into the lobby of a dance studio to rest. There I saw the dance instructor, KAYLEEN LARSON, who was teaching a class of young men. It seemed she was paying more attention to her partner than to her business. As I continued my walk, 1 heard music coming from the Starlight Club. I entered, and there I saw GLORIA LARSON rehearsing the current pop tune, ‘‘Gramps’ B.V.D.'S . She was accompanied by Frenchy's Frantic Five. Due to some hunger pains, I stopped in at the ‘‘Duke and Duchess Piazza Palace . There I met the Duchess, MARILYN MOZER, who was the head cook. I had been told that HARLAN WEINGART was the new announcer at Radio Station K E Z, As I entered, I heard him announce about the special meeting being held at the city hall. Due to my curiosity, I attended the meeting. There I met ARLYN SUCKSTORF, a minister of one of the prominent churches in town. He was giving an impressive talk on the evils of intoxicating drinks. I couldn't leave town without visiting the High School. I was surprised to find that CLAUDIA WAUER was the superintendent, as Mr. Merklinger had retired to janitor. He decided it was an easier way to make a living. Upon smelling an offensive odor coming from the science room, I investigated and found IMOGENE SCOTT, the science teacher, working on a formula which she hoped, if properly used, would increase her height. Nearing the outskirts of town, I noticed a lot of confusion at the corner of 10th and Vine. It seemed that JACK WYNN, the policeman, had been involved in another accident. Coming to the end of my journey, I visited at the home of Darrell Wyatt. His wife, the former GEORGIA GRANT, was trying to quiet their twelve children. They had decided it was ‘‘Cheaper by the Dozen . While talking to Georgia, SANDRA HAMLEY, now Mrs. John Denny, stopped in for coffee. She was caring for her tomcat Elmer , who was recovering from the croup. Because of theicommotion they were causing, I slipped out the back door. Noticing that it was getting near sundown, and time for me to catch my plane, I started for the airport. As I trudged along, I heard a loud roar. I turned and saw ELAINE HOWARD, now Mrs. Merle Strom, coming to a stop beside me in her produce truck. She graciously gave me a ride to the airport and told me she was still trying to teach Merle how to milk cows. I thanked her for the lift and hurried to meet my plane. The pilot, MARJORIE MEYER, informed me that she had broken the speed record for Around the World jet flights. As I sat in the plane and thought over the day's happenings, I realized that the class of 1960 had accomplished very successfully many of their school-day dreams. —14—
