Mr. Merklinger was our sponsor for the first lap of our journey. During that lap Karen Means fell from our ranks. By the time the second lap came around, we had lost Donna Praeuner, who transferred to Battle Creek, and Roberta and Delores Wilcox, who moved to Norfolk. Mr. Merklinger was again our guide. Coming back for our third lap, we were missing one more member, Rose Lewis. That year we presented our junior class play, The Whole Town's Talking, with Mr. Larson directing. Shortly afterwards Don Carr left our ranks. Mr. Merklinger, with whom we were very familiar, was once again our patient and kind sponsor. Near the end of the year we gave the seniors a wonderful banquet. We came back strong for the fourth and final lap minus another student, Robert Jensen. We presented the successful play, The Line of Scrimmage with Mr. Adams, our director. We were all very excited and nervous the night we went up to receive our diplomas. We knew we had reached one goal, but the hardest one was ahead. We sincerely hope that each and every one of the seniors of 1955 will be a huge success in whatever they do in the years ahead. a
