CLASS HISTORY It was in the tail of '49 that twenty freshmen entered the Meadow Grove ranks, but it was not until September 20 that they became full fledged Trojans. General Ballantyne ruled us for the first year, with Colonel Donna Rae Daugherty, at the head of the ranks, he was helped by, Lt. Colonel Barbara Hamley, Major DeVoe Fischer, Captain Barbara Osborn, and Lt. Bob Warrick. At the first of the semester, Katherine Van Dieken transferred to the Stanton Unit. Barbara Osborn had also been transferred, but to Norfolk when we began in '50. Wayne Pfaff joined us for a few short weeks but soon moved on. General Ballantyne was again at the head of our unit with Jim Lewis as Colonel. Bob Warrick had advanced to Lt. Colonel, and DeVoe Fischer remained Major, with the added job of news reporter. Wayne became our Lt. with Lotus Weingart taking his place when he left. Jo Ann Jensen joined the ranks in the spring of the year. Our regiment marched on with Delilah Sellin being discharged, Elnora Rahmeyer and Gary Schultz transferred to a different unit, and Allan Buehner joining the forces. Later in the year Harlan Kinney also became a member. We had a new General, Mr. Adams, with Stanley Sanne our Colonel and John Lewis now held the rank of Lt. Colonel, Allan was our Major and news-reporter, and Jim Lewis Lt. Entertainment was given to the other regiments when we presented the play Who Wouldn’t Be Crazy.” All of the group enjoyed the U. S. O. entertainment of the Jr.-Sr. Banquet. Well now we're in our last year. We were sorry to have DeVoe Fischer leave our ranks, but we're happy to welcome Mr. Adams back as our General. Bob Warrick has advanced to Colonel and Stanley Sanne fell back to Lt. Colonel. Other officers are; Darlene Duhachek Major, and News Reporter, and Allan Buehner, Lt. We are all looking forward to the day when we can leave our regiment and enter the wide world, and yet we feel disappointed, leaving the buddies we have had these four years.
