MGHSI946 Senior Class Will We, the senior class of Meadow Grove High School, being of sound body (and mind?) do hereby declare the following as our last will and testament: I, Wayne Austin, bequeath my love affairs with Betty Hutton, to George Munger. Good Luck. You’ll need it. I, Jen Collins, will my ability to scream to Vondalee Smith. (Be sure to warn the people before you scream.) I, Myra Hauge, will my share in the physics answer book to Paul Weerts, who has already bought 3 shares to sell at a profit next year. I, Bob Holtman, will my car to Shorty Werner. Milton Pugh can have the motor. (What motor????) I, Marjorie Johnson, leave my ability to draw beautiful girls to, Abe Lewis; so he won’t have to chase them. I, Gladys Kuntze, will my one-and-only to any girl who thinks she can take him away from me. (I warn you if you don’t want to be called “baldy”, leave him alone.) I, Donna Lenz, will the streetlight in front of my house to any one who is afraid of the dark; they can have it gladly. I, Glendoris Van Dieken, will my habit of speaking out of turn in Mr. Haul’s assembly to Eileen Munger. We, the Seniors, leave to the Juniors our typewriters and what’s left of our erasers. You’ve been eyeing them all year—so here they are. We, the Seniors, bequeath to the Faculty part of our locks—to replace the ones they’ve lost because of us. To our Janitor we leave—well, we just leave and he’ll be glad. IN WITNESS WHEREOF, we have subscribed our names this first day of April, in the year of our Lord, one thousand nine hundred and forty-six. (SIGNED) The Senior Class of 1946.

Our Past Green, insignificant—that is how the seniors labeled us four years ago. Wide-eyed, and filled with apprehension, we started on the road to higher education—eleven in all. Today, as seniors, we look back over four years of schooling, carefree, happy days of learning; four years for which we are grateful. Through the past four years many activities have added to the pleasure of school, such as, freshman initiation. How well we remember our garb. Dolled up in our mother’s oversized dresses with hats of fruit perched on our heads. The boys were clothed in knee pants, and of course, predominant color was GREEN!!! Outstanding in the junior year was our play, “Let Me Grow UP’’, and a Dutch banquet honoring the senior graduating class. During the senior year, we presented the play, “April’s Fool”, a comedy, to r. large audience. On May 3, the juniors entertained us at a nautical Junior-Senior banquet in the school gym. May 9, our class treked to Lincoln for Sneak Day, sneaking home again with the wee hours of the morn. The class was awarded a half holiday for twenty days attendance with no tardies. Dean and Jim McClat'-hey dropned from our class during the freshman year. When sophomores, Donna Lenz and Wayne Austir-enrolled while Ida Mae and Mary Lou Huelle departed to another school; as did Joan Stewart and Don Ballard in the junior year.
