The 1982-83 team compiled some impressive statistics with the most team points scored in a season (974), most team rebounds in a season (264) and the best free throw percentage in a season (54%). Perhaps a more important team stat is that the Mead girls averaged 46.6 points per game, during the winning season and limited the opposition to 42.4 points. Sophomore Anita Luetkenhaus had the most assists in the season with 70 and Senior Cynthia Ellison was second with an average of four assists per game. Luetkenhaus also took team honors with the best free throw percentage of any member of the Mead team with a 66 percent success rate. Senior Lori Langemeier had the second best record in school history for the most points scored in a season with 294 and the second best career point average of 14 a game. Freshman Staci Hass holds the school record for the second highest number of rebounds in a game with 22 and has the school highest total rebounds in a season with 246. Three team members were named to the ECNC All Conference team, with Langemeier and Luetkenhaus going to the first team and Hass to the second team (the only freshman named to the all- conference team.) With four graduating seniors (Dawn Parkins, Jeri Nelson, Cynthia Ellison and Lori Langemeier) leaving the team, next year’s Mead squad will have only two returning starters; Hass and Luetkenhaus. 2nd Row, L-R: Coach Lawson, Coach Becker, T.
