DEDICATED TO ALTHOUGHTHERE IS AN AVERAGE OF 5379 DEATHS A DAY IN THE UNITED STATES, DEATH IS NEVER COMMON WHEN IT RELATES TO SOMEONE YOU KNOW. THE STUDENTS AT MEAD HIGH EXPERIENCED THIS WHEN BYRON SWANSON PASSED AWAY FOLLOWING A LENGTHY ILLNESS. Byron was born Sept. 1, 1957 in Omaha, son of Mr. Mrs. Roger Swanson, but lived all his life with his grandparents Mr. Mrs. Merrill Swanson of Mead. Byron started kindergar- ten at Mead where he continued going to school until his death. In high school Byron participa- ted and lettered in football and basketball, and worked on the newspaper and yearbook staff. After school he enjoyed hunt- ing and baseball.
