Tournament Mead's Raiders were in and out of the hopper all year as the inexperienced Raiders worked together for an 11- 7 season. Although loosing the two opening games, the team fought back to win the following six. The Raiders had many exciting games as six were decided within five points. The highlight of the season came when Mead downed the Murdock Bulldogs 61-54 in the consolation game of the E.C.N.C. tournament. However, a disappointing loss befell the Mead Raiders in the opening round of Dis- trict play as Omaha Brownell Talbot ended the season for the Raiders by 64-62 double overtime decision. The world gets up in the morning and is fed and goes to work, and in the evening it comes home and is fed again and per- haps has a little amusement and goes to sleep. To make that possible, so much has to be done by so many people that, on the face of ii, it is impossi- ble. Well, every day we do it; and every day, come heat, come high water, we're going to have to go on doing it as well as we can. James Gould Cozzens Life flows on - with you and without you. I looked more widely around me, I studied the lives of the masses of humanity, and I saw that, not two or three, or ten, but hundreds, thousands, millions, had so understood the meaning of life that they were able both to live and to die. All these men were well acquainted with the meaning of life and death, quietly labored, endured priva- tion and suffering, lived and died, and saw in all this, not a vain, but a good thing. Leo Tolstoy Cindy Miller dwells on the future - thinks of the Life is what we make it - with some help - we'll past. make it. 56
