The Raiders were second in the Confer- ence, while a miscue in reporting could've been the difference as the Raiders lost by one 1 1 2. The Raiders also finished second in Dis- trict Competition. The Raiders had three qualify - Kerry Carden, Keith Ziegenbein, and Dick Coady. While at State all three failed to place. Rich Parson soars high and over the pole. The pole vaulters enjoyed a good year. Keith Ziegnebein crosses the finish line, while Gary Zicafoose has a ways to go yet. 22

To the surprise of many volleyball fans the Mead Raiderettes had a good season with a record of 20 - 3. The girls gained experience by racking up wins until the Waverly Tourney where they suffered their first and second losses. The girls fired back to the JFK tourney only to lose in the Championship game to Waverly. 13-15, 15- 6, 13-15. It was Mead's last lost as they went on to win for the fourth consecutive time the E.C.N.C. Conference. V. Simons shows off the re- wards of a Victory. Coach gives more of his sound advice to the girls. What'd he say!?! 24
