The girls gained experience by racking up wins until the Waverly Tourney where they suffered their first and second losses. The girls fired back to the JFK tourney only to lose in the Championship game to Waverly. 13-15, 15- 6, 13-15. A happy crowd met in the school gym to witness the crowning after the big game. The announcement of the '69 Royalty and Attendants was made after the presentation of the nineteen Senior candidates. The Homecoming Dance began with the Royal Dance. After that everyone joined in. The Mystics combo provided music until 12:30 when the festivities ended. The money made was given to the Senior or Junior class, but anyone in high school could be in the play. MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS Meet Me in St. Louis” is a three-act comedy which takes place in St. Louis in 1904. just as the World's Fair is about to open. Mr. Smith tells his family that he’s been transferred and they mast move to New York. The play is centered around the antics of the four daughters who will do anything to stay in their beloved St. Louis. The result was a very funny and successful play with a happy ending for everyone. THE AGE OF AQUARIUS - an ap- propriate theme for the prom of 1970 - was chosen by the Juniors. On May 9 everyone drove to the Fairview Cafe in Wahoo for the prom banquet. The class will, history, and prophecy were read and a speech made by the Reverend H. Noel Vetter. Then it was back to Mead’s Community Building to psychedelic posters and blacklights.
