Positioning Time-out to catch a breather! A promising team for the future, the Reserve Raiders showed their skill with an account of nine wins and three losses for the season. Although the Reserves were in no tourneys, they are a team to be praised and one we should be proud of.

Varsity A time-out to rest, drink and receive further orders. This year the Varsity boosted a seasonal record of seventeen wins and nine losses. Their wins accounted for themselves a third place trophy at the€.C. N.C. Basket- ball Tourney. The Raiders also gained high honors by being awarded the sportsmanship trophy at the District Tournament. It is with well-deserved pride that we salute the Varsity team as a team to be proud of!!! The new Husker Five Champs receive their trophy. Success was the word for Mead's volleyball team. Besides compiling a 20-2 record, the girls captured two firsts. One was the important J.F. K. Invitational Champion- ship. The other first was not a new one. Once again the girls succeeded in winning the Husker Five Conference with victories over Cedar Bluffs and Prague. Mead suf- fered its only two losses in the Waverly Tourna- ment where they placed fourth. Paula goes up to the net to slam another spike!! 22
