The first half wasn’t too bad as half time rolled around. It was now time to announce the King and Queen for 1968. The 2nd attendants were announced to be Diann Treptow and Jim Rieckman. While boarding their car Georgia Hageman and Randy Hutmacher were announced as 1st attendants. The crowd now grew more tense as Roger Nelson and Rhonda Hanson were announced as the new 1968 King and Queen. The game now presumed with the final score: Mead - 0 and Cedar - 63. The dance now began with the Peace Corps from Lincoln as entertainment. Twelve-thirty crept up as everyone left with a great feel- ing of a night's enjoyment. The gym was widely decor- ated with a gay majority of stars. After the meal, old memories were brought back to the seniors as their past and future were presented. Norm Thorson presented a speech and the Quartet provided the entertainment. At 9:00 the dance began as everyone showed their new dancing steps. At 12:30 everyone had left the Jr. -Sr. Prom with a misty mind of memories. Arriving in Denver the Seniors ran for a bus which took them on a sight- seeing tour of the Colorado Springs area. After our tour the weary thirteen boarded the train for home. THE MIGHTY THIRTEEN tytfutccatcoK 'Dacf The big climax of the Senior’s four years in high school came May 22 when they re- ceived their high school diplomas. The usual solemn occasion was interrupted by a burst of laughter when two boys were really floored after receiving their diplomas. The speaker for the evening was Mr. Wil- liam Wageman, a former Mead graduate. Rhonda Hanson gave the valedictory address.
