Drivers ed. students; Jim Wagner, Dennis Washburn, and Donna Hanson learn special instructions before driving. Green freshmen; silly sophs; jolly juniors; dignified seniors; these adjectives apply to none of us all the time and to all of us some of the time. Each class pursues its particular program, combining activi- ties that are fun-making and fund-making, vying with competition; however, as a student body, the classes lose their individ- ualism, and it's All for one and one for all --the true spirit of Mead High. Senior boys tried their cheerleading skills at the Husker 10 volleyball tournament. Freshman home economics girls enjoy a meal in class.

Mead High's annual Awards Night was held May 21., Outstanding awards of the evening were presented to Gay Gustafson, Betty Crocker Award and Outstanding English Writing; Wayne Petersen, Chapter Star Farmer; Terry Radenslaben, Dekalb Award; and Steve Meyer, SWCD Public Speaking Medal. This was the first time the awards have been presented without a banquet preceding. The first beau of the F.H.A. for 1964 was announced by Ruth Svoboda, President of the F.H.A. as Kirby Zicafoose. Kirby received a key chain with the emblem of the F.H.A. engraved on top. AWARDS NIGHT The 1964 F.F.A. Sweetheart was announced by Merlin Fick, Pres- ident of the F.F.A. as Lenore Larson. Her attendants were Jerri Barta and Sharon Houfek. 6
