BOARD OF EDUCATION LEFT TO RIGHT: Robert G. Williams, Mrs. Anton T. Svoboda, William T. Vavak, President; Superintendent, Hutcheson; Secretary, Raymond A. Nygren; Treas- urer, William J. Behrens; Vernon R. Larson. MRS. DONN SHANAHAN Office Secretary ADMINISTRATION SUPERINTENDENT’S MESSAGE Life is a self-recording instrument, written in in- delible ink. No erasers can clear up its mistakes. What we have written, we have written.” I sincerely hope that through the pages of this year- book we are reminded of the stimulating influence whidh our educational experiences have exerted upon our lives and so make us feel that this world, its work, its people and its places are the collective scenes and factors through which we are to work out our destiny. The world and all there is in it is friendly to the man who sees life with eyes of hope and confidence and plays the game of life as one who believes that success is within the reach of all who have FAITH--and TRY. DAVID HUTCHESON Superintendent General Science, Chemistry PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE It is with a feeling of mixed emotions—both of pride and regret--that I bid farewell to the Class of 1957. Pride in that you are graduating—regret at your leaving. For some of you this will be the first and last time you will don cap and gown; for others it is but a prelude to four more years of education. In either case, your learning cycle will not cease with graduation. I trust that each one of you will continue to expand your knowledge and skills with each passing day to the end that you will prove yourselves useful citizens in whatever community you may reside. I offer you my sincerest congratulations and--good luck! R. E. WHITNEY Principal World Geography American History English Literature 7th and 8th Grade Science Sponsor, Senior Class
