An executive council was created to reinforce the harried officers, while Sergeant-at-Arms was changed to Co-Historians. The year got under way with the annual Big-Little Sister picnic at Franklin Park. Girls' League also prompted two community service projects, including a canned food drive and a collection for a local needy family at Christmas. Other traditions that continued this yesr were Girl-of-the-Month selection, the Sweetheart dance, the Mother-Daughter tea and the Father-Daughter dessert. The effort toward unity of Mead's was deemed successful by all those involved.
