Cross Country For the first time in Mead High School a Cross -Country team was organized. This team was under the direction of Mr. Kvenevold with Tim Dschaak and Frank Knott as Co-Captains. The team competed with all city schools and Moses Lake. Frank Knott won the University of Washington Cross -Cormtry Invitational, and was undefeated. School Leaders The Council, made up of home room representatives class presi dents, and student body officers, is the key supervisor of all student body activities. Carnival King and Queen LARRY CAMPBELL KATHY SCHIMANSKI Junior Class Candidates DIANE SIRIA BILL NICHLES ANOTHER YEAR, ANOTHER CARNIVAL T'was the day before the Carnival When all through the school hall Students were stirring to prepare For this gayla affair After hours of preparation everything was done Tomorrow night they could begin their fun. On October 2, away to the carnival they flew like a flash Ready to join in on the fun-filled bash With prizes for the best decorated stand Karen Smith's, Ring Toss won the best in the land All too soon it came to a close But not before the King and Queen were chose The Carnival Chairman, Frank Knott, shouted each candidate Now Cheryl, Now Harvey, Now Diane, Now Bill, On Larry, Carnival by name Sophomore Class CHERYL PAXTON HARVEY SCHUYLER On Kathy, to see which class is on top of the hill. The Senior Class won with Kathy and Larry reaching for fame.
