Soccer Once again it was that time of summer strain when a soccer team is assembled and made ready. Coach Armstrong went to work as did the players. Work. Practice. Organizing. Sweat- ing. And fun. Things came together as we sweated and groaned. September came, the season. What it brought, however, was not what we expected, what we prepared for. Some players were racked by injury, and it hurt. Billy was knocked out early in the sea- son. Reggie was injured toward the end. Bosy was in that car accident, and Ad was off and on with knee trouble. Bomber, one of the best goal tenders, was out for a few. What was going on? Well, the team was going to play, one way or the other. It happened that we played our best games against the best. But our worst against the worst. We lost five games by one goal. The goal was to play soccer and we did. Rec- ord aside, we played well. Varsity Rear: Coach Armstrong, Frank Desino, Ad Dugan, Joe Mesko, Kevin Spath, Jim Combs, Tom Glavin, Brian Higgins, Jim Pulsifer, Mauro Canori, Dan Bosy.
