There is one activity that doesnit have weekly meetings but daily ones. Menacing deadlines, faltering drives, and a hundred more thorns-in-the-side have certainly preved upon our mode- rators, XVe think they have come out alive: without them we could not have come out at all. The cogs of that machine are the people you see embla- zoned above. Theirjokes kept life interesting when produc- tion became almost oppressive. But everything had to be done. And there did come a day when every job had been done. The book was finished. So were we.
