Science Club lYinner ofthe Rookie ofthe Year' award among activities this year is the Science Club, which has been organized by curious-minded students together with lvlr. Roy Drake, to stimulate interest in fields not treated in the classroom. The research projects undertaken this year include experiments in liio-physics. atomic physics. and X-ray analysis. Several meniliers huilt the only high school seismic station in the world: others worked on the atomic fall- out project. The highlight came when Sle- Quaid played host to 120 schools at the Diocesan Science lfair on March 14, The Science Clul: has lieen a key force in influencing the pulilic to regard Mt-Qnaitl as ' X . . a leader in the sciences as well as in the arts.
