If one activity at MeQuaid is to be singled out as most indispensable to faculty-student relations, that activity would have to he the Student Council. Perhaps its most important aim is to promote cooper- ation among all students and to act as a moderator he- tween them and the faculty. Certainly we are all aware of the CIouncil's accomplishments as a representative Iiody seeking to olmtain the wishes of the students. In everything from simple questions of noisy flagpole ropes. up through extra-curricular problems. to such significant contributions as the inauguration of a driver education course, the Student Council has played a vital role. Xvhat is less publicized but just as important is the value of the undertakings suggested and carried out solely through the Council. These appear most promi- nently in the conducting of school assemblies, the presen- tation of the Student Council XVinter Dance, and espe- cially this vear the New York excursion to Fordham.
