Mastering the English language - with all its complexities and diversities -is essential to students walking into a com- plex and diversified world. Speaking a language is only part of the English department,s job. Interpretation of language in literature is equally im- portant. From Chaucer to Tennyson or Emerson to Twain, literature has gained a decided foothold in scholastic impor- tance. Through the writing of such liter- ary immortals, students are offered a world of information that is both interest- ing and enjoyable. Literature and grammar are taught by Mrs. Margaret Starks, Miss Clella Nel- son, Mrs. Anne McGhee, Mrsjackie Raymond, Mr. Ralph Earles, Mrs. Frances Edwards, and Mrs. Byrlee Davidson.
