ADMINISTRATORS y AND CQUNSELORS R-ma '!nn-.... Principal, Mr. john Goering Always willing to help students with any academic or social problems are MHS,s two counselors, Mr. Elvin Brown and Mrs. Marjorie Stucky. Giving aid to college-bound seniors is one of their main re- sponsibilities. Besides discussing the attributes of different col- leges and helping to find scholarships that seniors can apply for, a College Night was held in mid-December to acquaint students with over twenty colleges. Counselors Mrs. Marjorie Stucky and Mr. Elvin Brown confer on schedules forthe next year. Director of activities, Mr. joe Rich To keep MHS running properly, efiiciently, and skillfully is the task of our principal, john Goering, and director of activi- ties, Joe Rich. In his twenty-seventh year at MHS, Mr. Goering deals with the requests and problems of students, parents, and faculty. As chief representative of our school, he confers with the many visitors touring the school and keeps in constant contact with programs for school development. Finishing a four-year term as president of the CKL, Mr. Goering has voiced the opinions of MHS well and earned a well-respected place among state administrators. Vital to the functioning of the school is Mr. Rich. He not only schedules all athletic events and extracurricular activities, but in his highly-respected manner deals with disciplinary prob- lems. During his thirty years at McPherson High, Mr. Rich has brought new insight to the dealings of the school while at his position and has shared a large number of responsibilities with Mr. Goering.

Directing the complexities and diversified aspects of a rapidly growing school system are Mr. joe Ostenberg, Superintendent, and Mr. Ted Washburn, Assistant Superintendent. It is through their able direction that the schoolis policies and rulings are preserved and enforced. Also, they host the many visiting delegates wishing to observe the school. Their insight, wisdom, understanding, and capability make thc functioning ofthe school system more efiicient, thorough, and progressive. The seven school board members serve voluntarily to deal with any difficulties or necessities of ruling dealing with the unified school district. Their ded- ication in finding the most unbiased and equal regulations and operating school functions in the most efficient and organized way is to be greatly appreciated and respected. Through their discre- tion, necessary rules are formed and, working closely with the administration, carried out. MHS can be very proud of their governing body and the traditions they have helped to uphold.
