DISCO VERY 1966 The year has come! We are a part of an active world! Let us capture these important moments! As members of this world, we have known: The thrill of watching the race in space The intense moments of world crisis The struggle between powers in South East Asia The mention of peace and the never-ending threat of total destruction The excitement of imagining or participating in world travel . The change in fashion styles The influence of foreign artists on all levels The change of traditions and The importance of being young. As members of this country, we have known: A definite nationalistic spirit for our country A keener insight into the functions of our government The struggle between political parties The policies used by a President from Texas The influence of labor unions in deciding our nation's economy Inflation or how to buy less with more money and A The importance of being young. A.s members of this community, We have known: A, quiet moment in Lake Side Park The ever changing country side The influence of four definite seasons The duties of city and county governments Main street on Sunday afternoon Saturday nights with nothing to do The controversy over fluoridation and The importance of being young. As members of this school, we have known: The homecoming, proms, balls, and banquets The taste of victory and defeat A. struggle to acquire and attain knowledge The impact of certain special people we call teachers The responsibilities and advantages of friendships The ability to feel ourselves grow in knowledge and wisdom with each passing day and, of course, The importance of being young and alive with spirit and understanding of which direction to take. Mr. Goering and Mr. Brown confer with past MHS students. M r. John Goering Mr. john Goering walks a precarious path in the diffe re nt channels of the high school. Kee ping his eye fixed on the goals of a well balanced high schoolprogram, he must hear and weigh honestly the ideas, problems, and com- plaints that originate from the students and the faculty. ' In the academic program of the high school Mr. Goering must uphold the quality of excel- lence. He is sensitive to the needs ofa growing and straining school, yet its pressures always leave him calmly collected. ' Mr. joe Rich Director ofActivities, Mr. joe Rich, brings a new perspective to McPherson High School for it was only afew years ago that he was a mem- ber ofthe faculty.
