Has Earl Saffer was one of the students who met informally in a faculty home after the Faculty Reception. Fashions and pretty smiles were the focus of attention as Georgianna Krehbiel modeled for the Womens Tea. Bashful freshmen learned to call each other by the right name at the Freshmen Get Acquainted Party. Beans, beans, and more beans decked the table at the Mens Supper.

L And so it began -the first of many treks from car to dorm as Dan Zinnkloseph Ezeka, and Barry Haldeman unload. fWho said girls had all the clothes?J FIRST WEEK OF CGLLEGE BUZZES WITH ACTIVITY Life on McPherson College campus during the first week of school was an array of activities that revived the college spirit and introduced the neophytes to their new environment. New room- mates, old friends, cluttered rooms, half-packed suitcases, constant chattering, and an irregular schedule perfectly describe conditions in the dormitories. Parties to get acquainted were held in the Stu- dent Union basement with crazy games and hot apple cider for refreshments. Long lines became the major complaint as students registered and tollerated beckoning stomachs. Formality came with the Faculty Reception which ended with informal visits to faculty homes. Still more introductions followed with a fashionable Women's Tea and a bean feast for the fellows. Dripping helplessly, a large crowd enjoyed the M-Club Watermelon Feed in the gym parking lot after an evening of talent scouted from the student body. Finally, marking the beginning of the football season, students danced through main street in their smartest Pjis grasping for air and hanging on for dear life. Mike Ziemann, Arnold Groff and Ray Hutchison found that the all school party was an ideal place to meet new people. Lynne Swanbeck practices the chow line cut on her friend Gay Morton.
