Cultural Series Programs Provide Entertainment Four musical features and one lecture com- prised the 1963-1964 Cultural Series. The Wichita Symphony under the direction of Mr. james Robertson appeared October 13. A young American pianist, Thomas Schumacher, presented a concert on November 19. Miss Claudia Lindsey, soprano, performed for the january 18 Cultural Series program. A political science major upon entering college, she soon discovered music which became her career. Mr. Gordon Hall presented a lecture on February 10. Mr. Hall spoke on how to lessen the burden and risk in a free society of the ex- tremists on both the far right and far left. Concluding the series on April 7 was a program by the Porgy and Bess Singers. Members of the group have appeared in various Broad- way productions. Miss Claudia Lindsey Mr. Thomas Schumacher

M acampus F estivz'tz'es Pr0zn'a'e Entertainment Various displays around campus depicted the 1963 homecoming theme, A Swedish Fall . The junior class won first place in the judging. Queen judy Fox reigned over the festivities, the game and the ball. Immediately following the afternoon homecoming game, Metzler Hall, the new men's residence, was named and dedicated. A large white Christmas tree, decorated with red was featured at the Winter Formal. A Christmas theme, with jeweled snowflakes decorated the room. A light surprise program was given by the Macollege faculty, with Wayne Geisert and Alvin Willems as masters of cere- monies. Robert Porter, Wesley DeCoursey, Mrs. Homer Brunk, and Irvin Wagner presented light entertainment. Two couples dance to music provided by the Stage Band. Alvin Willems and Wayne Geisert introduce the light entertainment Bruce Holderreed, Gayle Wood, and MTS- Richard by the faculty. Deemy enjoy formal.
