Players Contribute Deligliyiil Evenings The Solid Gold Cadillac, by Howard Teichmann and George S. Kaufman, was pre- sented by the McPherson College Players on October 18 and 19. The play portrays the reper- cussions of a stockholders' meeting of General Products Corporation, which Mrs. Partridge attended only because her horoscope said it was a good day for financial matters. The play is a fairy tale of a modern Cinderella on Wall Street and four ugly corporation directors. A Doll's House, by Henrik Ibsen, was presented April 17 and 18, by the College Play- ers. This play is said to be challenging and entertaining for both actors and the audience. Its theme of the emancipation of woman and its secondary theme of inter-personal relationship have made it a popular play. 1 Mr. McKeever and Miss Logan, his secretary, read the newspa- per while exercising. Cultural Series Programs Provide Entertainment Four musical features and one lecture com- prised the 1963-1964 Cultural Series. The Wichita Symphony under the direction of Mr. james Robertson appeared October 13. A young American pianist, Thomas Schumacher, presented a concert on November 19. Miss Claudia Lindsey, soprano, performed for the january 18 Cultural Series program. A political science major upon entering college, she soon discovered music which became her career. Mr. Gordon Hall presented a lecture on February 10. Mr. Hall spoke on how to lessen the burden and risk in a free society of the ex- tremists on both the far right and far left. Concluding the series on April 7 was a program by the Porgy and Bess Singers. Members of the group have appeared in various Broad- way productions. Miss Claudia Lindsey Mr. Thomas Schumacher
