This year has been one of many firsts for the Student Government under the administration of President John Chenet and Vice President Curt Gober. SGA in 82 has become a new dimension in student leadership. New programs begun this year include: Cowboy of the Week, Mr. McNeese, and Spirit Boosters. Other firsts for SGA include having the constitution rewrit- ten thereby making the office of Treasurer elected, sponsoring the weekly campus news program on KBIU, and increasing the SGA assessment to assist other campus organizations in their efforts to promote McNeese. The SGA John Chenet — President cabinet’s greatest accomplishment, however, was putting the interests of the students first in their every endeavor. PaAMNMRORT ° The Forestry and Wildlife Club is an action organization, alwayS — —--u- looking for projects to bring about improvement of our environ- ment. Some of these projects in- clude wood duck nesting boxes, goose banding, the annual Whisky River Clean Up, helping the Heart Fund, and presenting environmental films. The club boasts winning the ROTC “Shoot-out” three consecutive semesters to win the trophy. While a serious group, they also enjoy barbeques, crawfish boils, and canoe trips.
