Her memory at McNeese will long outlast her brief life, and is shared by the many friends, both students and faculty, who knew her. Catherine served as secretary of SLAE from September 2, 1982 until her death. She was a student teacher at Nelson Elementary School and actively supported all facets of the school’s athletic programs. Catherine’s memory will continue to live on with the many friends she had at McNeese.
The Student Louisiana Association of Educators is a pre-professional organization open to all students in the field of education and related curriculums. The SLAE and its national organization, the Student NEA, are affiliated with the National Education Association — the -largest professional association in the United States.
