274 ¢ Greeks Zeta Phi Beta It is the ideals of finer womanhood, service, scholarship, and sisterly love that have made Zeta Phi Beta sorority one of the most established black organizations in the country. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority was founded January 16, 1920, at Howard University. From that one undergraduate chapter has grown 246 graduate, and 222 undergraduate chapters which are spread throughout the United States and Africa. Lambda Gamma chapter had its beginning on McNeese State University campus on April 2, 1970. From that time on MSU’s campus, Zetas have worked wholeheartedly to fulfill all the ideals of Zeta Phi Beta. Lambda Gamma is very interested in the extra-curricular activities of McNeese’s minority population. They are ever working on new activities to get McNeese’s minority students involved in cultural and social activities. Zeta welcomes all in- terested ladies to attend all Zeta’s functions. The sisterhood of Phi Mu is a team of in- dividual people drawn together by the strong = and lasting bonds of common goals, standards, Phi Mu and activities. One of Phi Mu’s annual community service ac- tivities is the Lake Charles Junior Miss Pageant. This program, involving high school senior girls, stresses talent, scholarship, personality, and youth fitness. The annual formal, “Winter Wonderland,” is the highlight of the year.
