The Interfraternity Council is an organization whose purpose is to establish and maintain good interfraternal relationships and promote the fraternity system as a whole at McNeese. The IFC is composed of two delegates from each fraternity on campus. These delegates serve on a council which coordinates and governs men’s Greek functions. Campus beautification is one of the projects that the IFC has under- taken. Much of the landscaping that surrounds the new student union building is a result of the work of IFC. The IFC, along with the Panhellenic Council, also sponsors Greek Week. Greek Week is an event that is held every spring semester at McNeese and is a celebration of the Greek system on campus. This past spring, the IFC also published a brochure which contained pictures and articles about the activities of each fraternity. This brochure is used to give a better idea of what the fraternal system at McNeese is about. McNeese’s Interfraternity Council’s purpose is to govern and coor- dinate the Greek Social Fraternal System of campus and to promote and strengthen the system for the betterment of the University. The members of the IFC are composed of representatives from Alpha Phi Alpha, Deacons, Delta Tau Chi, Kappa Alpha, Kappa Alpha Psi, Kappa Sigma, Omega Psi Phi, Phi Beta Sigma, and Pi Kappa Phi. FRATERNITIES Also, being in a fraternity ultimately leads a young man to take better care of himself personally. Frater- nities help them recognize themselves as part of a — team. You’d be surprised at the number of successful business men who take a serious interest in their fraternity, and employers hire fraternity men because they know they’re getting quality workers. a You have to be on the ball to make it in this day and time. You can’t just lay back and play the percentages any more. Being in a fraternity teaches you to always put your best foot forward. Greeks ¢ 265
