The 220-pound sophomore from lota cracked both the single season rushing and touchdowns scored rushing records. He netted 84 yards rushing to shove his total to 1,267 for the season. Jordon scored both McNeese touchdowns to give him 18 for the year, snapping both a SLC and McNeese record. Jordon collected the records, but senior tailback Theron McClendon aa ae emerged as the game’s leading rusher as the DeRidder senior garnered 89 yards on 17 carries, while fullback James Galloway ripped his way for 47 yards on 10 carries and Starring picked up 46 yards on 32 rushes. McClen- don’s total left him shy of the 3,000 mark in career rushing statistics with a career ending but school record setting 2,930 yards. On the defensive side, cornerback Leonard Smith increased his school record for blocked kicks, as he blocked his fourth field goal of the season. Tackle Leroy Gedward paced the Pokes in tackles with nine, while linebacker Richard Goerlich had eight and linebacker Mark Smith and safety Robert Davenport had seven apiece. .
