Zeta Phi Beta Sorority was organ- ized on Jan. 16, 1920 at Howard Uni- versity, Washington, D.C. Lambda Gamma had its beginning on McNeese State University on April 2, 1970. From this time on Zetas have worked hard and wholeheartedly to fulfill their ideals of scholarship, sisterly love, service, and finer womanhood. Our national project is Stork’s Nest: Stork’s Nest is a store with clothing for babies whose parents are of low income, We also collect money for March of Dimes, Unicef, NAACP, United Negro College Fund, Sickle Cell Anemia and for many other needs. We as Zeta women strive hard, working in our communities and giving the services we have. 185

¥ wit, iNT, TET With 181 chapters and nine colo- nies, Zeta Tau Alpha is the third largest and fastest-growing sorority in the U.S. and Canada. Since its founding on the McNeese campus in May, 1971, the sisters of the Eta Eta chapter have strived to help each other to develop her abilities to the highest. They emphasize scholarship, campus and commu- nity service, The Zetas have worked together to raise money for the National Association for Retarded Children and gladly volunteered their time to usher at all the home MSU basket- - ball games. The annual Silver Crown formal, a Christmas party, exchanges, and slumber parties make up today’s Zeta. 187
