The purpose of the fraternity is to develop in members the essential qualities of leaders of men so that they will be prepared to assume a moreproficient role in the military affairs of the United States. ' f -, ,f Scabbard and Blade consists of T72 na- tional chapters or companies. McNeese State is Company I of the 14th regiment. Scabbard and Blade at McNeese is both a social and a service organization. The members also are involved in activities of service to the Lake Charles community. Company I undertakes the project of preparing iuniors for summer camp at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The project includes a field problem, physical com- bat proficiency test, leadership reaction course, and orientation lectures and demonstrations.
