Seated: Gayle Marshall, Vice Presi- dent. i , The chief aim of the Pre-Legal Society is to gain a foreknowledge ot the gen- eral aspects ot the law in order to iden- tify Themselves with their chosen voca- tion. To achieve this aim, the Pre-Legal Society is often addressed by distin- guished members from the Lake Charles Bar Association and frequently visits the various law establishments. Horticulture Club The Horticulture Club was organized at McNeese State College in i958 to pro- mote interest in Horticulture around our campus and to foster study and work in the field. Proiects of the club have included beau- tification of the campus and aiding pro- motion of understanding of the field of horticulture. Various social gather- ings are enioyed throughout the year. New officers are chosen each semester. The sponsor is Mr. O. D. Hyatt. Although designed primarily for horticulture maiors, membership is open to any in- terested person. This science includes boTh a sTudy of The soil and of The crops ThaT are produced from The land. Club members parTicipaTe in The Louisiana collegiaTe crops and soil iudging conTesT held annually in The spring. Members of The club also help To conduct The agronomic porTion of The iudging compeTiTion sponsored by Mc- Neese STaTe College for The beneTiT of area high schools. Besides These acTivi- Ties, The club provides an opporTuniTy for informal expression and discussion which serves as an inTegral parT in developing The confidence and broaden- ing The specTrum of knowledge of The individual.
