Under the direction of President Diana Dudoit and Vice President David Tolin, fall of '68 witnessed the passage of a Sl tax per semester to support Union activities, with the tax a measure ending dual membership to both SGA and SUB insured complete autonomy. These measures guar- pptee the necessities for growth of a well-rounded student 1 e. SUB is a three-body structure: Governing Board, Executive Board, and Committees. The Governing Board, which origi- nates policy and approves programs and membership, is composed of Dean Vernon Keating, Mr. Louis Riviere, Mr. Frank lngraham, Mr. John Keaton, SUB president and vice president, and SGA president, lst and 2nd vice presidents. The Executive Board professionally programs activities, which are executed by some 50 committee members. Spring Hootenany, Welcome Week Fair, and Up With People involved McNeese students-all initiated by SUB. Six committees carry out the actual operations of the Union. The Recreation Committee provides the Taos Ski Trip and pool tournament, both attracted much attention and interested students. While SGA budgeted money for bands, the Entertainment Committee obtained these groups. Attractions were Ivy People's Medicine Show for Back to School Dance, Count Down Five for Home- coming, Penny Arcade for USL Dance. This committee also initiated TGIF dances and even noontime Union en- tertainment, notably John Munro and Summer Time Sing- ers. The Cultural Committee conducted the Grace Ramke Exhi- bit and worked with ACTS in the Foreign Film Series. The Hospitality Committee welcomes visiting guests, decorates the Union for holidays and all dances, held a Yuletide Carol-Sing. Four C Committee keeps Chennault campus informed and offers varied programs such as Chennault Shenanigans. Completing the SUB operation is the Public Relations Committee which informs McNeese students of all campus activities through publicity. Giving the needed dimension to campus life, Student Union Board provides a wide variety of things to do. SUB will undoubtedly continue bringing added life to our college. Diana Dudoit and Dean Vernon Keating receive the City of Lake Charles official welcome for Up with Peoplel, presented by City Council Presi dent Charles M. Fontenot.
