Though many obstacles bar our way, we are tempted to go on and see what is beyond our pine trees. We do not know what lies before us. lt may be fame or it may be poverty, but what ever may come we will not turn back. Our path ie full of pleasant memories. We recall that it was sometimes difficult, and we sometimes hesitated, but a great urge to see the World and make it better to live in, makes us want to go on. Therefore, we the Annual Staff, of McNary High School, with the splendid cooperation of our classmates and fac- ulty, have garnered these hits of knowledge and have com bihed them into this our record of achievements. ,.i 41,- dmri- H. r-' KVM' M if Vik jiyli Q . 25 XX 1 ! f 1 n, VX 5 X Fife DE DlCy1W KD N 1 TO OUR PRINCIPAL! Van Reese won the door prize, Our big event of the year was the Junior Prom, It was held April 25th in the gymnasium, The Juniors really worked hard for a month, making flowers, string- ing wire, making fences, and running kids out that got in the way, When we were finished with the decoration work, it was Hfit for a kingu. A false ceiling made of balloons and streamers had a pleasing effect on the garden-like surroundings. The music was furnished by Hoy Gibbons. Having survived this reign of terror subjected to these noble and illustrious Freshmen by those cruel, heartless Hcrittersn of the upper classes, the Freshmen began to plod through their plebe year. Christmas the Freehies felt proud to have Santa come to be a part of their program, and to leave all the lads and lassies and faculty members who had been a good HChristmas PacKage.n By January l6 there had been other ambitious per- sons to join the group to make it the largest and most spectacular class. The number twenty-five may not have any special jinxg therefore we hope it will bring best of luck to the class. The Freshmen felt proud to have as president, Patty Hayes, who has been in McNary through most of their gram- mar school days and with her guidance the Freshmen spon- sored a most successful Easter Dance April A and everyone found it great to be promenading on the Easter Parade. To end the activities for this year the Freshmen had a May Day picnic out at Blue Lake and midst of the fro- lic they made plans for their Sophomore year for which they are looking forward with the greatest of expecta- tions. Here's to the Sophos of '42 and remember Pearl Harbor as we become the Seniors for we do want to Keep 'em Flying always.
