J oll lue Celt rings Victory Ron Van Hess, Jolly Blue Giant, led the juniors to a smashing victory over the seniors and sophomores during the fiercely fought fourth annual Spirit Week. The week was highlighted with exu- berant demonstrators, gigantic signs, and gaily decorated stiirwells. A finale of skits, competition yells, tug-of-wars. hilarious songs, and a lovely legs con- test ended the well-fought battle for the most spirited class ot' the I968-69 school year. Each class division also composed their own song parody. A competition yell, Who are the Celtics? thundered throughout the gym during a special pep assembly held on the final day of competition. Super sensational judges for this contest included Mrs. Mary Ellen Tra- vis, Mrs. Marjorie Mellbye, Mr. Bruce Stewart, Mr. Ernest Davenport, and Mr. Dwight Runner. Talent Parade Passes by Warm rounds of applause greeted the performers as the last curtain came down on the final production of the talent show, The Parade Passes By. Designed and directed by Mr. Michael Hibbard, the talent show was presented five times on November 22, for the student body. An evening performance was offered to the public on November 25. Mrs. Alice Jones and Mr. Glen Williams provided musical direction for the six- teen musical acts. Performers in the various acts were Kristi Mills, Norma Winslow, Val Ranches, Ted Sawyer, Leslie Huson, Kathy Johnston, Pam Anderson, Beth Damon, Dave Forgard, Jack Breneman, Leslie Whinery, Chris Fletcher, Cel- tic Six, Newcomers, Highlanders, Paul Losie and the Acapulco Brass, Varsity Rally, and Kris Smither and Company. Above: Leslie Huson swings to the mod- ern jazz beat. Upper right: With grass skirt swishing, Pam Anderson, interprets the hula.
