Art Is Popular Oils, water colors, charcoals. glue paintings, yarn paintings. ceramics, sculpture, candles, and candle holders were just a few of the many projects to come from two of McNary's most popular roomsg Room 153 and room 156. Un- der the inspired guidance of Miss Helen Schwab and Mrs. Bonnie Bennett, art students also painted Christmas windows and offered numerous displays and sales ot' their work dur- ing the year. ..'?'Q QQQQ QQ .Q 1 f - mugs With a Song in ur Hearts Four Celtic choral groups, the A Choir, the Mixed Chorus, the Girls' Glee, and the Highlanders, kept the halls-and much of Northern Oregon-resounding with song from September until June as they provided music for civic groups, special concerts, Christmas events, school programs, the annual musical, city-wide concerts, and many, many other events. They also performed for the Junior high schools in the district and made an appearance at Mount Angel College, Highlighting the year was the annual musical held in February, and the High- landers' appearance on K.G.W. television for Holiday Hi Q on December 29. A special appearance came in the year when they performed at the dedication for the new bleachers in the football stadium. All groups are directed by Mrs. Alice Jones.
