Long as We Live Our Praise We Give to You, M Joy, anxiety, sorrow, satisfaction . . . these were the feelings of McNary's largest graduating class as they march- ed into the gymnasium for their commencement on June 4, 1969. The 8:00 ceremony began with the McNary orchestra, directed by Mr. Glenn Reeves, playing HPOITIP and Circum- stancef' The invocation was given by Reverend Charles Losie. Maureen Tesdal challenged graduates to use their time wisely as she spoke of S'The Pursuit of Excellence. Pursuit of Excellence does not end with graduation , she said. Hlt will continue even beyond the end of the world- cNary High as long as there is wisdomf, Ben Dake offered 4'Reflections of a Foundation that Providesw as he explained the impor- tance of education. The most dangerous person today is the man with too little education because he thinks that his interests alone are important. Dr. Charles Schmidt, superintendent of Salem public schools, presented diplomas to 410 graduating seniors, after which the class, accompanied by Mrs. Alice Jones on the electric organ, joined in singing the Alma Mater. Following the benediction, the graduates left the gymnasium to the strains of L'Corneluis Festival. M?
