The Boys' Gymnastic Team for 1968 included, front row: Brent Young, Ted Amend, Larry Hande, Doug Church, Fion Comer, Dave Cummings. Second row: Coach Morrie Jimenez, Larry Moore, Doug Herschbach, Steve Lovrien. Third row: Al Cook, Greg Barnwell, Steve Ray, Ken Gierloff, and Flon Walker. Qymnasts Place 5th 911 State Although plagued by injuries throughout the year, McNary's gymnasts placed fifth in both District and State meets. Led for the second straight year by seniors Doug Church and Larry Moore, the Celtic team defeated the North Salem Vikings in an impressive win this year. Church and Moore both placed fifth in the State meet in Eugene. Next year's squad will have three returning junior lettermen, and many fine sophomore prospects. Sophomore Ron Walker captured first place in the long horse vaulting event at District. The thrill of victory. . . and the agony of defeat.

Second row: Denise Fox, Debbie Meier, Jeanne Louden, Tammi Tanaka, Marie Vandehey. Third row: Coach Georgia Cutler, Marge Smith, Merri Wilder, Virginia Medearis, Cindee Southwick, Jane Schra. girl Qymnasis Boasf 8 Wins McNary's girl gymnasts finished the season with a fine record which included eight wins. In their second year of actual competition, the girls placed well in the District league standings. Senior Jane Schra led the team throughout the year in the all-around event. Miss Cutler should expect a great turn- out of sophomores and juniors next year. Virginia Osborn proves that grace and balance play an important part in her balance beam performances. Jane Schra displays the strength and agility needed for the uneven bars. 99
