Senior Credits-219 Club Credits ALPHA CHI: The purpose of Alpha Chi is to promote and recognize scholarship in all areas of education. Lifetime member- ship is limited to top 10 per cent of union and senior classes. D€LTA BETA EPSILON Delta Beta Epsilon was founded in 1944 with the purpose to foster friendliness on campus. The club annually hosts a Freshman Ice-cream Social to start the fall activities off. Among other fall campus activities are partici- pation in TIP Sing Song, in which Delta Beta won Best Costumes A ward, and Home- coming, in which the club won Women's Division in the Tipi Competition. The Win- te. months are spent planning for the Green Army's annual ski trip to New Mexko, and the Ski Party All-School Dance. Highlighting the spring is pledging, spring picnic, and the Delta Beta Dinner- Dance where the officers for the next year are revealed. DELTA OMICRON: This national organi- zation promotes interests in music not only in its members, but lso to those not so familiar with musk in an art. FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES: One of the college's newest organizations, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes con- fronts athletes and coaches with spreading Christianity throughout the world. GAMMA SIGMA: Gamma Sigma, found- ed in 1936, promotes a feeling of sister- hood, which extends beyond the college days on the Reservation. Social activities include fall and spring picnics, TIP Sing Song, Homecoming. The club is always the leader or near the top in scholastic achievements. GAMMA SIGMA EPSILON: Along with the American Chemical Society, Gamma Sigma Epsilon strives to future interest in all facets of Chemistry, both academic and professional. Regarded as one of the finest chemistry department in the state, the McMurry department has turned out many outstanding doctors and teachers. INTERNATIONAL CLUB: Organized to provide an opportunity for the members to exchange facts and ideas about their respective countries, the International Club has such function as a Christmas party, and weekly get-togethers on the campus. KAPPA DELTA PI: This national organi- zation encourages excellence in scholar- ship, improvement in teacher preparation, and contributions to education. KO SARI: Ko Sari, founded in 1937. unites men with various interests and talents into a single body which cherishes and ad- heres to virtues of knighthood. The club holds a fall and spring pknic and summer REUNION.Christmas party, andHomecom- ing Exes dinner. PHI ALPHA THETA: The Sigma Deta Chapter of Phi Alpha Theta was organized AT McMurry in the spring of 1971. It is an international honorary society in history. The purpose of the society is to bring to- gether students and faculty who have a common interest of history, both intellect- ually and socially. PHI BETA LAMBDA: The newest national organization on the campus is Phi Beta Lambda, formed in the spring of 1974 under Dr. Manuel Flores. Purpose of the organization is to develop competent business leadership and to improve and establish standards for entrance into business occupations. PI DELTA PHI: Only 9 years old, Pi Delta Phi has made a strong contribution to the college through its cultural, social and educational activities. For several years. Pi Phi has received superior ratings at Homecoming. The club participates in TIP Sing Song, both fall and spring rushes, pknics, and banquets. Christmas caroling at a local nursing home and adopting a needy family during Christmas are other activities on the agenda. PI KAPPA DELTA: An honorary fraternity for inter-collegiate debaters and orators. Pi Kappa Delta was brought to the campus in 1967. The members are selected from students who participate in a required number of speech events. Members enter debate, oral interpretation, persuasive speaking, informative and extemporan- eous speaking as well as discussion. SIGMA TAU DELTA: Sigma Tau Delta promotes interest in English. Organized in March of 1951. The McMurry chapter aims to promote the mastery of written expression, encourage worthwhile read- ing and bring together students special- izing in English literature and language. SOCIETY OF PHYSICS STUDENTS: The McMurry Chapter of the Society of Phys- ics Students is a charter chapter of the Society which was founded in 1968 to pro- mote educational activities for all students interested in physics and to encourage and assist physicists to develop the knowl- edge, competence, enthusiasm, and social responsibility that are essential to the advancement of physics. STUDENT EDUCATION ASSOCIATION: The Student Education Association was organized to help future teachers prepare for their careers at all levels. The SEA meets monthly with programs than can be helpful in actual teaching situations.
