DEDICATIO 'DR. ORTO JONES As McMurry College celebrated its Golden Anniversary during the 1973-74 academic year, the Totem staff took on the awesome task of selecting a dedicatee who exemplified the hard work and total dedi- cation it has taken for this Methodist college to become one of the finest Christian liberal arts col- leges in the nation today. Dr. Norton Jones, a member of the faculty since 1948, is a classic example of the hard work and dedi- cation. The 1974 Totem staff proudly dedicates the yearbook to Dr. Jones. Born in Augusta, Arkansas on Nov. 16, 1908, Dr. Jones attended Little Rock High School. He gradu- ated magna cum laude from Hendrix College in Conway, Ark., in 1928, then received his M.A. and Ph.D. from John Hopkins University in 1930 and 1932 respectively.
