For the past several years, the Totem has not been dedicated to an individual. This year, however, it is the conviction that a candidate has proved himself truly worthy of the position. In 1947, he arrived at McMurry to direct the Indian gridmen. For three suc- cessive years, he has guided these Warriors to Texas Conference championships. Not merely because he has winning football teams do we dedicate the 1950 Totem to him, but because he has developed sincere sportsmanship in the campus men, because he has in- cited real Indian spirit in the student body, because he is Wilford Nwre. WE TAKE GREAT PRIDE IN DEDICATING THE 1950 TOTEM TO HIM.
